Sometimes, I forget how important family is. I forget to make time. Time to make my family a priority in my life. Time to chat together, to laugh together, to cry together, and to be together. Philip and I are very blessed to both have such amazing and supportive families. It’s because of them that we are who we are today. And so we will make time during our busy lives to slow down and enjoy spending life with the ones we love.
Philip’s sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Dan, just hit a big milestone in their lives. They celebrated five years of marriage together. Philip’s Mom, being someone who loves to plan a gathering and surprise anyone whenever there is an opportunity, put together a lovely surprise party for Dan and Jennifer. She invited their wedding party, friends and family that were part of the wedding, and some more current friends and family. They have a fairly long driveway, so everyone got there early and then lined the driveway on both sides waiting for Dan and Jennifer to arrive. They were definitely surprised! There was beautiful weather, lawn games, visiting with old friends, cake and a video slideshow of their last 5 years together. Philip also cooked chicken fettuccine alfredo, which he made for their reception dinner as well. The little cutie is their beautiful niece Ella who was beyond excited to celebrate, or maybe just eat cake!
Later in the evening, when the sun was setting, Philip and I headed out to the field to take a few pictures with Dan and Jennifer. It is refreshing to see a strong thriving marriage in a time where fewer and fewer people seem to be willing to work and fight for their love and marriage. Philip and I appreciate these two so much. They have been an incredible source of joy and wisdom in our lives for which we are so thankful. And they sure know how to have a good time and laugh a lot!
